Crusader Kings 2 Set_government Command


This command changes the government type of the character with the specified ID. Note that if you change your government type to one from a DLC that isn't installed, the game will end.

Set_government Syntax


The syntax for the set_government command is as follows:

set_government [government type id] [character id]

This command has the following arguments:

Government Type IDThe ID of the government type you wish to change the specified character's to. Government type IDs:
  • merchant_republic_government
  • nomadic_government
  • feudal_government
  • theocracy_government
  • tribal_government
  • republic_government
  • muslim_government
  • theocratic_feudal_government
  • chinese_imperial_government
  • confucian_bureaucracy
  • order_government
  • roman_imperial_government
Character IDThe ID of the character you wish to change the government type of. How to find character IDs: commands.gg/ck2/blog/console-help#charids.

This console command would set the government type of the character with ID 140 to tribal_government (the government ID for Tribal Government).
