Age of Empires III is the most recent installment of the AOE video game series (but not the last). AOE 3 continues on from AOE 2 in a similar way to which AOE 2 followed on from AOE 1, as it is set between the 15th and 19th century, which leads on from the Middle Ages (which AOE 2 was set in). In AOE 3, you are tasked with progressing a civilization by managing units, buildings, armies, and an economy from the 'Discovery Age' in 1492 AD through many stages until you reach the 'Imperial Age', in 1876 AD.
Starbound is a 2D game set in space. After leaving the damaged ship you start out inside, you must explore planets, collect resources, and complete quests. There's no end objective with Starbound - you create your own story!
