How to Open Doors with Commands in Witcher 3

Open Sesame!

There are lots of doors in The Witcher 3, so many that sometimes using console commands to open them is definitely warranted. To follow this tutorial, you'll need to know how to enable the console (see our enabling console guide for help), and how to open the console (press ~ or F2 on your keyboard).

Unfortunately, there isn't a command in Witcher 3 that will open a specific door, but there is a command that will give you all keys for all doors. This command is:

addkeys

After typing the above command into the console, you will be given every key for every door in the game. You can open the door you want to open, and then get rid of the remaining keys.

If you don't want to have to get rid of all of those keys each time you want to open a door, you can use the additem command to add a specific key to your inventory. To find the item code for a key, visit our Witcher 3 item code list and type "key" into the search box. Use the additem command listed on our item list to add that key to your inventory.

We hope this guide was helpful! Check out our Witcher 3 cheats page for a list of all console commands in the game.
